Musing on Motherhood (Mornings July)

Musing on Motherhood (Mornings July)

2 July 2024
10:30 - 11:45

What are we talking about when we talk about motherhood? Join us as we explore. Humorous, controversial, popular works and obscure writing is used. The writers muse on myths of motherhood, grapple with ‘good enough mothers’ and ponder the power of ‘the lady with the pram’! From a 19th century diarist to a 1980’s psychologist to a social media sensation, we hear the voices of those who have birthed, adopted or become ‘the other mother’. This is a relaxed exploration of 16 varied writings.

As always, just put the kettle on and join us on Zoom. Babies and children welcome. Advance reading and literary expertise are not necessary.
